Well, a somewhat underwhelming response and rather an anti-climax!

And they didn't even offer a refund.

Tesco's reply was as bland as the sandwich - as follows (only the names and customer details have been changed ...):

Dear Mr Spod

Thanks for your email. I’d like to apologise for the delay in replying. Normally, we can get back in touch with you within 24 hours and I regret that we haven’t managed to do this for you on this occasion.

I'm very sorry that you didn't like the taste of our Limited Edition Mexican Chilli Chicken Sandwich and I can understand why you're disappointed.

When we launch new products we have customer panels that fully test our recipes and we use their feedback to make sure that we produce all of our products to a very high standard.

However, I appreciate that these may not be to everyone's taste, so I've logged your comments under reference 12345678 which will ensure our Buying Team are made aware of this. I can assure you that your feedback will be considered in any future changes to the product.

To say sorry for your disappointment, I'd like to refund you the cost of the sandwich which I can see is £2.80 and perhaps you can put this towards a sandwich which you would enjoy more instead.

If you could get back to me with your address details, I'll be happy to arrange for this to be sent out as soon as possible.

We're always happy to hear our customers' views, so thank you for taking the time to tell us.

I look forward to hearing from you soon and have a good weekend.

Kind Regards

Bo Ring Person

I do wish I had seen your comment before buying one of these sandwiches. I sent the following email to Tesco customer support:

"Dear Sirs,

Please pass on my congratulations to the company who makes your Tesco sandwiches for creating the new Tesco "Limited Edition" Mexican Chilli Chicken sandwich.
They have, without doubt, created the blandest edible substance known to mankind. Naturally I use the word "edible" in the widest possible sense of the word.

The tastelessness of the watery chicken is perfectly combined with limp vegetable matter within in a truly uninspiring damp wrapping which purports to be bread.
Any possible spice, chilli or other Mexican flavouring has conveniently been obliterated in case the customer is offended by the presence of flavour.

The resulting combination of a truly nasty bland tasteless lunchtime consumable will surely rank among the greatest achievements of the 21st century.

Yours faithfully,
Spod"

It will be interesting to see what response I get ...

There are 3 companies now developing Drive Extender for the new WHS. Microsoft obviously won't take the hint, but at least someone has. Of course, it remains to be seen how expensive it will be, and how reliable.

Hi,
Whilst I appreciate you using my image of the Harrier I took yesterday would you be kind enough to credit and link back to my Flickr account rather than taking the image and re-hosting it elsewhere.
Regards
James
If you can't remember where you got the image the page is here:
